Dog & Cat Licenses

2017 Dog and Cat Licenses are now available

The deadline to register your dog or cat before late fees hit is April 1st.

Per state law - all dogs and cats 6 months or older are to be licensed every year.  Please bring in your most recent rabies certificate - signed by the veterinarian, when you come in.

Registrations may be done by:
1) visiting the clerk's office Monday - Friday during the hours of 8:00 to 4:30
2) submit the payment through the mail or place in the night drop box at city hall.  We will need the following documents - current rabies certificate (signed by the veterinarian) and the mail-in-form below.  We will mail the tag to you once the registration is processed by our office.

3) by credit card or debit card by visiting www.xpress-pay.com. Please see instructions below and be aware that there is a processing charge of 2.8% plus a site fee visit so see the example below.  We cannot accept electronic checks at this time for animal licenses.  We will mail the tag to you once the registration is processed by our office.

The annual due date for licensing is by April 1st.  Due to state law, we cannot accept postmarks prior to April 1st as on time if the payment is not in our office by 4:30 on April 1st.

Want to pay for your pets registration on-line?  You can now pay for your dog or cat's registration on-line by using our credit card feature (sorry we are not currently set up for e-check dog/cat transactions).  However, please be aware that there is a 2.8% convenience fee and a site fee which is paid to the credit card company for processing your credit card payment.  A $21.00 registration fee paid by credit card will cost $22.57 of which $21.00 goes to the city for your registration and $1.57 goes to the credit card processing company.

If you are re-registering your pet:  Go to the xpress pay link and then click on animal licenses- renewal.  Type in your last name and click on find bills and all the aminals in the city with that last name will appear.  Select the dog(s) and cat(s) that you wish to register and follow the instructions on the screen to finish your transaction.  If your name is not listed, could your pet be under a different last name?  Or if this is the first time you have registered your pet, please see below for new pet registrations.

If you are a new pet owner who has not previously registered your pet: We will accept your payment on-line but we need to obtain a copy of the rabies certificate so please fill out the form on line and give us the Vet's name and phone number.   Go to  xpress pay link   and then Dog/Cat fees- new.  Please fill out the form as accurately as you can in reference to the vet's information.
