SoBu Speaks:  Consensus Mobile App Launches

I magine that the City Council wants to know what you think about a strategy to promote more affordable housing in the City. Questions are posed through an app on your phone and the community’s feedback is gathered. The data gathered is then used to inform their actions at the next Council meeting. Thus, allowing an easy-to-use, quick avenue for opening the dialogue between government and the community on real-time topics. You can download the app by clicking on this link, sb.consensus.ai

On June 3, this vision became reality. With the launch of a new mobile app named Consensus. Using cutting-edge technology, which encrypts your responses, you can share your thoughts on questions that can impact community topics.

Basically, you can download the app to your phone or tablet and be asked to verify that you are a resident of South Burlington. Then, the fun begins! You will have a series of questions available to you to provide your thoughts. Turn on your notifications and when there is a new question, you will be notified!

Developed by Consensus, a technology company based in Toronto, Canada, the mobile application (app) works to improve society by enhancing community relationships with government. South Burlington is the first municipality to testdrive the tool. As this is a pilot, it will seek to answer several questions including the level at which citizens want to engage in local government; can technology be used to build trust between government and citizens; and can government make better and timely decisions with ongoing citizen feedback and data?

VISIT SBVT.GOV to directly download the app. Also, available now in the Google and Apple App stores. Search for Consensus citizen.
