Miller Family Donates the Remainder of PD Building

MILLER FAMILY DONATES REMAINDER OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING TO CITY

The Miller Family has donated the remaining portion of the building that houses the South Burlington Police Department to the City.  The City originally purchased a portion of the 19 Gregory Drive building to house the  Police Department.  Some of the City’s area of the building has been further leased to the Department of Veterans Affairs and there is also room for the South Burlington Restorative and Community Justice Center as well as a community meeting room.  The newly donated area has an existing tenant, EPS, Inc.

The original agreement with the former co-owner of the Building, REM Development led by the late Bobby Miller, called for the Miller portion of the building to be donated to the City after 20 years.  After Mr. Miller’s passing in the spring his children decided to make the donation to the City early.  The Miller Family is well known for its philanthropy and this donation to the City years before it was originally to occur is a tremendous gift to the residents of South Burlington.
