FY22 City Budget Presentation

FY22 City Budget Presentation (VIDEO)

As announced in the last edition of City News, the City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Municipal Budget that will now go to the voters for approval.  The budget is a 0.98% increase over last year’s tax rate, and an increase of $13.01 for the year to the average condo owner, and $18.76 increase for the year to the average homeowner.  This budget certainly takes into account the challenges everyone is facing as we continue to move through the Pandemic.

The City Clerk will be mailing out Ballots to all active voters in South Burlington, expected to arrive around February 10th.  There are several options for voters for the vote on Town Meeting- return the completed Ballot to City Clerk’s Office by due date of March 2; drop off Ballot in box provided outside entrance to City Hall any day or time before midnight March 1st; OR bring your Ballot with you to the polls on March 2nd and cast your vote at the appropriate polling district site.

Anticipating that many voters may choose to vote early, the City has prepared a short video presentation similar to what is typically presented at the Annual Pre-Town Meeting- a summary of the budget and it’s impacts, and is now available for viewing on YouTube.

The complete City budget is available here.  Please contact the City Manager’s Office at 846-4107 with any questions about the budget, or email Coralee Holm, Director of Public Information & Engagement at cholm@sburl.com, and she will forward the question to the appropriate person to respond.  For any questions regarding the voting process, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 846-4105, or email Donna Kinville, City Clerk at dkinville@sburl.com.

We greatly value and welcome your participation in the budget process and encourage you to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns.
