 4 – 8 PM, Friday, Dec, 16 & Saturday Dec 17| 180 Market Street, South Burlington

South Burlington is hosting the first ever Illuminate Vermont – an outdoor and indoor winter celebration of Vermont artisans with 12 regional performers, s’mores, artisan handmade goods and fine arts, a photobooth, food trucks, specialty drinks and sparkling lights is a go on Market Street both this Friday and Saturday night.

See the performer and vendor line-up on the festival website www.illuminatevermont.com.  The City has partnered with area hotels to provide festival rates – so guests can make a weekend of it while enjoying this free event.

There are some good things to know about getting there - Parking is readily available in the University Mall Parking Garage with a shuttle service running between 4:00 – 8:15 PM to Market Street and continuously circulating to Market Street (east side of parking garage to north of Blue Mall – look for signs).

Parking is also available at the Rick Marcotte Central School (access from Hinesburg Road).  Intrepid bikers will find covered parking onsite, and transit stops are close by on Dorset Street

One block of Market is closed until Monday morning Dec 18.  The closure extends from Mary Street to the east end of the South Burlington Public Library and City Hall. Both ends of Market Street are open otherwise to local traffic.

City offices, including the Clerk’s Office are open as normal until 4:30 PM Friday – parking is available on Market Street, behind the South Burlington Public Library and City Hall (access from Hinesburg Road) but not across the street.

The Public Library is closing at 3 PM Friday to prepare for the event but is open normal hours on Saturday.  Be sure to check out the Lobby for fireplace performers and a Friends of the Library book sale!
