Three New Mixed-Use, Multi-Story Buildings Approved in City Center

On February 8, the City issued approval for three new buildings in the heart of City Center. These buildings will each be four stories in height and include, in total, 161 new homes and over 22,000 s.f. of ground floor commercial space facing onto Market Street. The developers, Snyder-Braverman, are planning to break ground this winter/spring on construction.

These buildings will be located on the “B Block” of City Center, within the City’s Tax Increment Finance District, between the City Hall / Library and Garden Street, on the north side of Market Street. The project is an investment partnership with the University of Vermont. Other features of the project include several on-site seating areas, a community garden area for residents, underground parking below two of the buildings, and long-term bicycle parking space. The buildings themselves will meet state energy codes and include solar-ready zones on their rooftops.
