There will be a delay in releasing the new 2020-2021 tax bills. Due to the State extending the deadline for filing personal income taxes until July 15, 2020, the State will not be releasing the educational tax rates until the end of July. The South Burlington School District budget is not set which is also delaying the State in setting South Burlington’s educational tax rates.
We anticipate that the City Council will establish tax installment due dates at their second meeting in July--July 20.
Property owners will have 30 days from the date tax bills are mailed to pay the first installment.
For the 2020/2021 tax year only interim tax bills will be mailed by August 15, 2020. First installment will be due Sept. 15, 2020 Second installment Dec. 15, 2020 and the final installment will be March 15, 2021.
