Council Hears from Land Trust on Sewer Allocation

The South Burlington Land Trust presented a proposal to the City Council to amend the so-called “Sewer Ordinance” to direct the allocation of sewer capacity to areas where the Planning Commission and Council want to see growth.

The amendment would call for the establishment of Sewer Service Areas that are “designated by the City in which sewer capacity may be allocated.”  The amendment would direct the Department of Public Works to develop a five year Capacity Allocation Plan and develop certain priorities for where allocation should be committed as well as a process governing how allocation should be awarded.
