Animal Tracking Family Hike at Underwood

Underwood Family Animal Tracking Hike
The City’s Community Hike program kicked off its 2021 season with a Family Animal Tracking Hike on Saturday, February 13^th, at the Underwood property.  The hike was led by two Vermont Master Naturalists, Kelly Knudsen and Alicia Daniel.  Participants were able to learn more about what different animals do in the winter by looking for clues that wildlife leave behind.  During this walk, participants saw tracks from mice, gray squirrels, eastern cottontail rabbits and what we believe to be a red fox.  They even saw recent evidence of woodpeckers.  Stay tuned for more Community Hike events as they are announced.
