Spring Chickens?

Spring is in the air and if you are thinking about raising chickens, we’d like you to know that you’ll need to apply for a Backyard Chicken Permit.  Permits are issued annually to enable residents to keep a small number of domesticated female chickens for personal use.  The fee is $20 for the first permit and then $10 each year thereafter to renew.  The Backyard Chicken Ordinance explains the details.  Pictured here is Mira Epstein, she successfully applied for a received permit earlier this year for her chickens. Contact Planning & Zoning with any questions.
