City Council Public Hearing on Draft LDRs Jan 3rd
During their first meeting of the New Year, the City Council will be holding a public hearing to consider a series of changes to the City’s Land Development Regulations. The Council received these amendments in early November after the Planning Commission’s hearing and vote to approve the amendments earlier this fall.
There are four general themes to these proposed amendments, which have been under development for the past 3 years by the Planning Commission:
- Updates to the City’s Environmental Protection Standards
- Replacement of the City’s Subdivision, Master Plan, and Planned Unit Development standards and where they apply
- Zoning district changes, including within the Southeast Quadrant, along the west side Hinesburg Road south of I-89, and along Shelburne Road near Lindenwood Dr
- A series of “stand along” changes, including solar-ready zones on new commercial buildings, accessory dwelling units, accessory structures, building envelopes, and residential design
