Wheeler Habitat Management

Wheeler Habitat Management

In November 2021, the City Council authorized signature for an agreement with the US Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) to conduct habitat management work at Wheeler Nature Park through their Partners for Fish & Wildlife Program.  This work is funded through the USFWS partners program, and mainly involves invasive plant removal at Wheeler in order to improve habitat priority for birds as identified by Audubon Vermont.  This work is slated to begin in February or March 2022, and will continue until the identified work has been completed or the agreement ends (December 2031).  For more information on this, please read the full story here.
