We are looking for some volunteers to serve on City commissions and boards. This is an immediate need and will be to fill the current term.
Development Review Board (DRB)
OPEN POSITONS: 1
The Development Review Board is charged with reviewing applications for land development and making determinations on compliance with the City’s Land Development Regulations. Knowledge or strong interest in architecture and engineering, construction, natural resources, transportation, land use law, and/or broad knowledge of the community is encouraged. Experience with, or willingness to learn to read engineering or architectural drawings is a must. Meets on 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month with occasional supplemental meetings and modified dates.
Planning Commission
OPEN POSITONS: 1
The Planning Commission is charged with preparing the City’s Comprehensive Plan, reviewing and updating the City’s Land Development Regulations, and undertaking long range planning studies for the community. Knowledge or strong interest in community development, social engagement, land use, economics, housing, transportation, public health, natural resources, the ways in which people and communities interact is encouraged. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month with occasional supplemental meetings and modified dates, and assignments to special working groups.
Public Art Committee
OPEN POSITONS: 1
The committee is building out information about public art in South Burlington on the City’s web page, managing the public art gallery, holding long-delayed dedications for City Center public art, and
laying the ground work for a South Burlington cultural assessment/plan with an
artist and organization resources inventory. Meets monthly.
