South Burlington Fire Department (SBFD) is seeking qualified professionals to join our team!

SBFD employs 32 full time employees and staffs two fire stations responding to approximately 4,300 emergency responses per year. All personnel are dual role, cross-trained, and certified firefighters and EMT's, Advanced EMTs, or Paramedics. On duty staffing provides coverage via two staffed fire suppression trucks and one ambulance.
In addition to the normal services provided by most fire departments, SBFD employees are also trained in many technical rescue disciplines such as: confined space rescue, high angle rescue, trench rescue, cold water rescue, swift water rescue and structural collapse rescue.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Vermont or Pro Board-Certified Firefighter I
- Vermont Emergency Medical Technician or NREMT
-Shall possess and maintain within one year of hiring, Vermont and National EMT Registry, AEMT certification for the duration of their employment.
-Shall possess and maintain within two years of hiring, Vermont Fire Academy Firefighter 2 certification for the duration of their employment.
-Shall possess and successfully pass an annual physical fitness standard set by the Department, for the duration of their employment.
