Deputy City Manager - Full Time Position 

The Deputy City Manager, in partnership with the City Manager, oversees, directs, and manages the personnel, financial and operational functions of the city.  The Deputy City Manager leads the financial oversight functions and day-to-day operations of the city, manages cross-departmental strategic initiatives, and prioritizes the high level of customer service delivery expected by the community.  Additionally, the Deputy City Manager assists in policy development and resident engagement.    

With the longstanding and exceptional City Manger and Deputy City Manager both retiring in June 2021, the successful professional will work with the incoming City Manager to define roles according to abilities, competencies, and interests in service to fulfilling the Charter obligations of the City and providing the best support to the staff, Council, and community.

The South Burlington Public Library will be moving in July into a new 28,000 sq ft library. To support this long awaited move into a beautiful building, we are looking for a full time Adult Specialist. The person in this position will work with adult patrons to offer reader's advice, computer assistance, programming and volunteer opportunities.
