Vermont Protected Lands Geospatial Data Standard

Vermont Protected Lands Geospatial Data Standard -

After beginning our mapping project, the partnership realized that the Vermont Protected Lands Geospatial Data Standard was missing terminology that is commonly used by municipalities when describing conservation lands.  After speaking with a representative from the Vermont Center for Geographic Information (VCGI), it was realized that the original data standards were created in partnership with state land trusts.  No one had thought about the possibility of municipalities utilizing this data standard to pursue conservation either within or outside their own boundaries.

The partnership was invited to work with VCGI and CCRPC to comment on newer versions of the data standards in the hopes of making the standard more useful to municipalities across the state to make regional conservation more feasible.
