- Gutenberg.org -The Gutenberg Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to digitizing classic books and making them available for free. The entire text of many books may be read online or with an e-reader.
- IndieBound - Bestselling book lists from independent booksellers (members of the American Booksellers Association).
- Juvenile Series and Sequels - The Mid-Continent Library in Kansas City, Missouri, provides various ways to search for young adult series books.
- Library Thing - Catalog what you have read into your own online library, and share reviews. (membership fee).
- Mystery Writers of America - Lists the Edgar Award nominees and winners in various categories.
- Nancy Pearl - Nancy Pearl, book reviewer on Public Radio and expert Reader’s Advisor (and the model for a “librarian action figure”), has her own book review site with book group tips too.
- Novel Crossing - Search for titles in Christian fiction sub-genres.
- Poetry Foundation - A feast for poetry readers.
- Romance Writers of America - Search for titles in romance sub-genres.
- Seattle Public Library - See the staff’s well written and extensive reading lists for adult fiction.
- Teen Reads - Suggestions for Young Adult readers from a publisher, The Book Reporter.
- KDL What’s Next? – The Kent District Library, in Kent County, Michigan, provides a database to search for the sequence of adult fiction with series characters. If you can’t remember the title or author in a book series, try the character name search.
