South Burlington Energy Festival Comes to Market St.
Clean and Green Transformations

SOUTH BURLINGTON – On September 30th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the South Burlington Energy Committee is hosting a festival in support of the City’s Climate Action Plan and dedicated to engaging the community on ways to reduce our energy costs and carbon footprint.
The event will take place at Public Library & City Hall, 180 Market Street, and will feature more than 20 exhibitors, food vendors, kids’ activities, live music, and short seminars – plus free Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. See induction stove demonstrations and take a ride on the smoothie bike! Kids can visit with Champ, bop around in the bouncy house, and participate in an energy-themed scavenger hunt. There will be electric vehicles, electric bikes, and an electric school bus to explore.

The Energy Festival will include presentations on a variety of educational topics, including weatherization, solar, heat pumps, bike tire repair, our Climate Action Plan, transportation, compost/recycling, and more. Take an architect’s tour of Public Library & City Hall — a modern, green building — and see a live dashboard of the building’s energy generation and usage.

The event will include three raffles, featuring $3,000 worth of prizes and over 50 winners. The South Burlington Energy Committee Raffle includes prizes from Ace Hardware, Alpine Shop, Bird Bike Share, Champlain Chocolate, Earl's Cyclery, Eco Bean, EMS, Gardeners Supply, Hannaford, Healthy Living, Larkin Hospitality, Leonardo’s, Net Zero VT, Skida, Small Dog Electronics, and Trader Joe's. Local Motion is providing free valet bike parking and a raffle with prizes from Earl’s Cyclery. EMS will have a raffle at their table with EMS products.
Join us for a day of fun, food, prizes, and sustainable energy! For more information and a complete schedule of events, visit www.southburlingtonvt.gov.
