Chris Snyder and Ken Braverman of Snyder/Braverman Development made a presentation to the City Council on the next phases of development in City Center. Snyder/Braverman is the developer of the land owned by City Center LLC, the largest individual landowner in City Center.
There are two projects that are permitted and ready to go. The first is a 40 unit affordable project named Dover Place which will be situated just to the north of the Garden Apartments at the corner of Market Street and Garden Street. The developers hope to close on this property in February and begin construction this spring.
The second project is much larger at 134 units and it is to be situated on Garden Street just beyond Healthy Living, as you enter from Dorset Street. This project, known as Prospect Place, will provide market rate housing and construction will begin as market conditions improve as we emerge from the pandemic.
According to Tim McKenzie, who represents City Center LLC, the southern portion of Garden Street should be completed after construction begins on the Dover Place project, allowing for another connection between Dorset and Market Street.
