Library Checks Out Garden Tools!

As Fall turns to windy days and floating leaves, gardeners are putting their gardens to bed. People who have been involved with the Seed Library may have saved some seeds to use and share in the spring. All will be looking forward to the catalogs that come in the dark of winter.

Staff here have been busy buying some new tools for our Library of Things. Based on suggestions from Ashely Parker, leader of the Weed Warriors, we have added the following items for three-week checkout: hand shears, a lopper and a rake. Please clean them and return them ready for the next person.

When you tire of the deadheading, mulching and weeding, pull up a big rock and sit there playing on a borrowed ukulele – we have two, thanks to a generous donation. Or, pull out the bird book and binoculars in the Birdwatching activity box. Then, if the snowflakes fall before you’re ready, borrow our new shovel to clear the driveway.

Ask about these and all the other items in the Library of Things on the second floor. To reserve them online, search the catalog for 3D Objects and place items on hold. www.southburlingtonlibrary.org
